Your gifts to the Geneva Fund provide vital support that enables Geneva School to fulfill its mission of providing an excellent classical education within a Christian perspective. Your gifts are needed, are fully deductible, and are much appreciated.
Each year the Geneva Fund provides vital and unrestricted support for the basic operations of the School: professional development, scholastic programming, financial aid, athletic and extracurricular programs. Every gift makes a difference in the lives of our students. Thank you for supporting Geneva School!
Geneva Fund FAQ:
Where does my Fund contribution go?
The Geneva Fund ensures that the mission of the School can be carried out each year within budget. The Fund provides for ongoing support of all School academic initiatives, professional development, athletic teams, and arts programs.
Why is 100% participation so important?
We always stress to our School families the importance of 100 percent participation. While some families will be able to give a large gift, others will not be able to do so. All gifts are important and appreciated. Full participation from School families, Board members, staff, and faculty communicates to our external donors and prospective foundations the level of commitment from those within the community who are most closely associated with the School. Every gift makes a difference in the lives of our students.
How can I contribute?
We accept gifts online, as well as gifts of securities and in-kind donations. Geneva Fund envelopes are mailed to School families and can be returned in the mail or in person to the School office.
When can I contribute?
Although we encourage gifts in the first 100 days (October 3, 2018 through January 11, 2019), we accept gifts throughout the year. Our fiscal year is July 1 to June 30.
How do I give a matching gift from my employer or company?
Many companies match the contributions made by an employee or spouse. Inquire as to whether or not your company has a matching gift program; if so, obtain the necessary forms and email them to the Director of Development. As the donor, you will receive credit for both the original gift and the matching gift amount. In this way, your gift is doubled!
What is 100 Days of Generosity?
During the first 100 days of the Fund drive, we want to highlight the beauty of generosity and all its many forms. We hope to instill a spirit of generosity—as well as friendly competition—within the School community. We will celebrate acts of kindness and generosity among students and faculty and communicate frequently about the acts of kindness all around the School. We will also hold a friendly competition among classes to encourage 100 percent participation from each class.
Each class competes to reach the 100 percent participation mark first, and popular prizes will be awarded in January 2019.
- Gold Medal: The first class to reach 100 percent participation will receive the prize of morning donuts, dress-down day, and classroom read-along with noted children's author Sally Lloyd-Jones!
- Silver Medal: The second class to reach 100 percent participation wins morning donuts and dress-down day.
- Bronze Medal: The third class to achieve 100 percent participation wins donuts.
What’s so great about generosity?
As a community of Christian believers, we know first-hand the lavish blessing of eternal life from our loving Heavenly Father. For Christians, generosity expresses in tangible ways the goodness we have received from God. In the Bible, generosity is linked to one’s contentment of spirit (Philippians 4), to a rich understanding of God's grace, and to the pursuit of excellence: “But since you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you—see that you also excel in this grace of giving” (2 Corinthians 8:7).
When is Giving Tuesday?
Giving Tuesday is the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and has become a way for post-Thanksgiving consumers to realign their priorities in the midst of holiday buying. It causes us to pause, remember our abundance, and give back in meaningful ways to organizations whose missions we appreciate and support. At Geneva School we hope the spirit and intent of Giving Tuesday fuels gratitude for our teachers and generosity for our mission. Gifts given on Giving Tuesday will be matched by a donor. Thank you for partnering with us in this giving initiative.
